I am a newbie, I will hopefully be purchasing a 99 tl. I was reading through the posts before I threw out a question to ya'll and I have been reading alot about transmission problems. This kinda scares me but I've seen alot of the problems happen mostly with 2000-2003 models. I've read about a few 99's and I seen the news paper articles and the article from honda that covers only some 2000-2003 models, I will be purchasing the extended warrenty on my car hopefully I wont have any problems. The dealer said the trans is covered, but can you guys tell me what I should do? I didn't purchase the car yet, I really like the car and it is in my price range with only 37,425 miles, should I get it or keep looking? My question about the H&R springs is If I do get the car, this will be my first mod and I want to know do I have to change my struts or can I stay with my OEM struts since the drop isn't too low>? Sorry for the long intro, I'm just hoping I dont get into a messed up situation with this car.

you can stay with your stock struts and just have lowering springs.

I have H&R sports with stock struts, no problem at all. Ride qquality is about the same as stock after lowered, but the look and cornering will be improved
