H&R OE or H&R Sports?
I was doing searches for which set of springs to get and i got it down to these two. My 03 TL-S has the OEM kit and stock 17's and i was just wondering if the H&r sports would be too low that it would scratch alot. In a-cura-world.com there was a guy that said that the H&R sports was to low and so he got H&R OE. How many inches off the ground are the H&R sports and the H&R OE? I just don't want to worry too much about scratching. if anyon ehas some close up pictures of the two please post them. Any comments would be appreciated..thanks

I have the OE sports on my TL. Anything lower and you would have to worry about scraping for sure. I barely have enough room for my exhaust tips to clear curbs if I back my car in. The drop was even more than I expected from the OE's. If you want a little cleaner of a look and a better balanced car, the OE's will do nicely in my opinion.

I had a set of H&R OE springs on my Accord--they lowered it just enough where it looked nice, (but not noticably lowered) and the ride just bordered on slightly harsh...any firmer and I wouldn't have liked it.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The thing I like a lot about the TL is that it Never scrapes anything, while my Accord always hit something in the front.
But H&R is a great company, so it boils down to your personal preference. (ie, how sensative are you to harshness in the suspension?) Good luck!

Personally I went with the H&R Sports. I didn't feel that the OEs were enough of a drop. They are both good sets however, and depending on how low you want to go... both will meet your needs.
For reference... the H&R Sports dropped my car the full advertised 1.75" both front and rear as opposed to the Comptech's which are slightly less, especially in the rear.

I just bought a set Tein SS coilovers. I was having the same problem as you. So I figured, spend a bit more for the height that I want, and also better ride quality. In addition, with coilovers you won't have to worry about the shocks wearing out faster which would cost you more in the end.

This is the route I'll go when I get the bodykit. Not because I'm worried about scraping... but b/c I can raise the height for the winter....

I am in the same position. I research both the OE and Sport and found a few things I don't like about the Sport.
1. rear camber "most likley" need to be adjusted
2. shorten the life of the stock shocks if you elected to keep them
3. I just got new rims with 215/50/17" 47 offset, I may have rubing if the have the rear camber is corrected.
Therefore if I went with the Sports then equals extra $$$ for camber kit and shocks.
Anyone have any comment about these findings?

I believe installation of springs with camber kit with future shocks will cost much more thasn installation of teins. I believe the cost of springs is like $255 and for the coilovers its $360. Different depending where you go. These are Park Ave prices. Midas does it for cheaper if you want to go there.
