Unfortunately, it's not that simple. That approach assumes the other car is standing still. You have to consider the difference in car A's speed verses car B's, and then do the math. Say the GS400 is covering 45' at 60MPH, but the TLS will be doing around 58 or so will cover 40'(or so). Now do the math. Okay, even that is not exactly correct, but .5 secs will be a lot closer than you think.

Case in point - watch a drag race sometime. Especially ones that go 300+MPH. Consider that at 300MPH you are covering some ground, but even a 1/2 second is closer than simply doing the math of one at 300MPH.
