Green fluid leak from the engine

I have a green fluid leaking seemingly from the interior of the engine.
It is off the same emarald green color as the engine coolant but it is oily (unlike the engine coolant).
The local mechanics didnt seem to have a clue abt it. Can any one tell me what that leak could be ?

Thanks !

I'm no pro but my guess is you got a crack in your block somewwhere and coolant is leaking into your oil and thats big problems.

The ONLY thing green is coolant. Keep in mind that coolant flows through your engine to keep it cool. It is probably one of 4 things:

leaking radiator hose at the motor or water pump

leaking head gasket (this could account for oil & coolant mix)

leaking freeze plug (these are brass plugs on your block to keep the block from cracking if your coolant freezes)

leaking water pump where it bolts to the block.

You should be able to trace with a little diagnosis. Could be simple or expensive to fix depending on what you find.

Best of luck on tracing the leak and keep us posted on what you find.

Are you talking about the interior of the car? If so its the heater core.

It might be just a little bypass hose or a pin size hole in one of your coolant hoses.

id recomend you find a different mechanic if the one you brought it to didnt have a clue.
it may be a simple fix right now but if you let it go it can/could get really expensive

i'm with the fst?4^%! guy - handle this problem TODAY. your fix costs could exponentially increase if you don't handle this business now.
