gray streaks on windshield

I have been getting a bunch of little gray streaks on my windshield when ever i use the spray to clean my windshield. The dealer has replaced the wipers and a hose, but that has not fixed the problem. If anyone knows the fix for this please let me know. I am going back to the dealer on tuesday. Thanks.

Try cleaning your windshield really good. I've used superclean on my windows and it got rid of a lot of streaks and wiper skips. This stuff will take out any grease or oil, just don't get the overspray on your paint.

I tried that, and i think i do good job of cleaning it when i wash the car. Even the dealer washed the car after replacing the wipers and hose and it still happened. It doesnt happen when i use the wipers in the rain, only when i user the washer fluid.

You may have bad washer fluid that may have some oil/grease content. Maybe draining the washer reservoir and refilling it could help. Try to put prestone bug wash concentrate about $1.99 from Pep Boys, that could displace some of the contaminants in there.

There's a known issue with the TL's and smearing windshield. In fact there is a TSB regarding this issue. The problem is the washer fluid manages to disintegrate part of the inner lining of the tube, causing it too make a thin layer of grease on the windshield whenever you use the sprayer to clean the windshield. The dealership will need to replace your wipers, fluid lining, and flush the entire windshield washer system

The TSB can be found here...

Replace the @ with "a" and 0 with "o"...

hope this helps...take care.

Thanks for the info/link...it seems that the only replaced half the of the parts, just the tubing and the wipers. Should i just hand them the TSB report or should i give them another try to fix it. I feel that if i give them the report it would be a bit of an insult, and that is the last thing i want to do to someone who does work on my car. Again thanks for the info.
