Unhappy Got A Ticket for BS

I got a damn ticket today for screeching my tires at a light . The cop pulled me over for that and then got me for a seat belt violation. What the hell is the world coming to.

Who the hell knew you could get a ticket for that ? I sure as hell didnt know. Sorry but every cop I meet is a DICK!!!!

You should be glad the cop didn't give you a ticket for reckless driving. Screeching tires constitute as "show of speed" and it is definately a moving violation. Some cops bump it up to reckless driving. Next time, try not to peel off when the cops are around.

As for the seatbelt violation.... BUCKLE UP!!

You don't necessarily have to be going really fast to screetch your tires.

my friend got a ticket before for peeling out at a light. i'm pretty sure that you CAN get a ticket for it.

just a seatbelt violation is good enough i think.

Don't feel bad because I just got a ticket for loud music in my TL just a few days ago. But I am planning to fight the ticket next week. Cops can be such assholes sometimes.
BTW, always buckle up!

...reminds me of the joke where the patient complains to the doctor," Doctor, Doctor, it hurts when I do THIS!" and the doctor says, " Then Don't do it!"

Sorry you got a ticket, I am sure a warning would have sufficed since you didn't know, but now you do...now we all do.

ps- pls buckle up.

You didn't have traction control on??? if you did it would only peel out for a second. if you did, you can say that there must have been oil on the road or something that caused the tires to slip but the TCS kicked on and fight the ticket.

and BUCKLE UP, that one's your own fault!

Wink

I got pull over for peeling off. I didn't get a ticket or a warning. He said that how fast would I have gone if he didn't pull me over. I was honest so I told him that I was just showing off and I wasn't going to go fast. Always be honest.....

Well I knew I could get a ticket for my seatbelt but, peeling off at the light I had no clue. I am going to fight the ticket. Hopefully I can mouthpiece the judge into throwing the case out.

I successfully contested the "exhibition of speed" (aka burning rubber) when I got cited for it back in '85. As I explained to both the officer and the judge, the intersection had a lot of loose gravel and my wheels spun-out on them. I had pics to back it up... case was dismissed.

I think the cop was just giving me a hard time though... I had a Hurst/Olds at the time and he was driving a Monte SS.

Did you see the cop? probably didn't....don't worry about it. He probably would have given you an a** chewing and a warning if you had your seatbelt on.

Poor you. Bye the way, do you think income tax is enough for Fed Government?? Sigh Sigh. I guess in Germany, you would never get a speed ticket.
