Talking Got some new shoes for my TL-S

Let me first say.........yes it needs a drop very very badly. I feel like I'm driving around in a SUV right now, or better yet Bigfoot. Springs are in the mail. But anyways, I got me some Speed Star Racing (SSR) GT3's. It may not be 19" but I live and actually "drive" my car in NYC area so it had to be 18's. And they had to be forged. I don't cruise around at low speeds, and if I were to get 19"s I would have to drive so slow it would of drove me NUTS! I slowed down already with these 18"s

They are 18"X8" +49 offset with Bridgestone SO3's in 225-45-18".

Needless to say, this makes me really realize how sh!tty the stock tires are. Handling obviously improved....but the tires are a bit noisy. Ahhh well, I don't really care about the noise.

I've wanted 3 piece wheels for so loooong...."form follows function" was and is my motto May not be pretty as some but I'm quite content

Whacha folks think?

Re: Got some new shoes for my TL-S

I'll be curious to hear if you have any rubbing issues with Comptech springs and your 45 series tires. If you don't have any issues with 5 people in the car, my next set of tires is going to be 225/45/18s rather then the 40 series I have now (I could use some more sidewall to pad the ride a bit and protect the lip of my rims from scratching in pot holes and such).

Nice wheels. They look great.

I hate you! But only because I'm jealous....I've been wanting a set of those myself.

How do they fit? Do they stick out from the fender at all? My wheels have are 17x8 w/ a +50 or +52 offset (can't remember which) and they are just flush w/ the fender.

Thanks guy's.

Trippin, it's funny you say that. I'm rubbing on the drivers side rear when I hit a typical NY dip/bump. I'm not sure if it is the plastic tab, but I'm cutting that off ASAP.

About the springs. Due to a wickedly angled driveway, I have to settle with H&R OE's. I'm still doubting it will look low enough, but I don't want to rip my chin and exhaust system off every time I come home. I want the Comptech drop soooo bad, ahh well..........."if I can only rig up some airbags so that I can lift myself up when I come home...hmmm"

Redline, "flush" would be the word best describing it for me as well. Here's a pic to give you an idea.

Nice rims

The OE drop should be fine with your 45 tires. It should give just about the same illusion as the sport drop with the 40 series tire. You'll be happy! Can't wait to see pcture with the DROP!!!!!!!!

There is beauty to be found in function. If it looks good does nothing, then like a woman who is the same type, you will get bored..

Nice Choice..
