Got my tranny replaced today
The new (I guess rebuilt) tranny came in yesterday. My car was ready today. 5400 miles on my car. So far so good. Shifting seems pretty smooth. Only thing that annoys me is that one of the service workers was smoking in my car. I was hoping to smell the sweet leather scent, but instead it smelled like cigarette butts. What a bunch of Sh*t.
All in all it took roughly 3 weeks for them to replace my tranny. I hope this one will last more than 5000 miles.

Hope this tranny works for you. As far as the cigarette smell is concerned, there's no excuse for it! Talk to the service manager and tell them you're going to give them a mediocre score in the survey if they don't clean it out.

good luck with the new tranny.
a service guy smoked in my car once, he left ashes on the shift place and on the rug (not even the mat, the friggin RUG). I IMMEDIATELY went back in and complained and i got to watch the service manager go BALLISTIC and yell at the service tech. They then cleaned (almost detailed) the inside for me while I waited.
Complain and use it to get something from them, even a free oil change or something. that's bull**** that they smoked in it.

Great News, Dr.Bear. It looks like they actually found and fixed a problem. This may be good news to whomever the next unlucky March/April TL-S owner is who has one go bad. At least they will get it fixed quickly.
I have to admit, I am glad that they replaced the whole thing, and did not try to fix it at the dealer!!!
Of course, they could have just sent it to AAMCO!
