Angry Got my first door ding today!

Woopeee! It was just a matter of time I s'pose.

It's not all that bad or a ding, I've seen some really deep door dings out there, but what a fu@king drag! Right in the middle of the driver's door. Anyone know of a good ding removal company in L.A.?

Hmm...If my memory serves me right, I think that IS300EATER mentioned that he had his door dings taken out. They came out to his work or something. Might want to ask him about that.

Doesn't It Piss You Off?

I got my first one two days ago as well. I've always walked around my car each time I get into it ever since I bought it (I know, just this side of anal), but it was too dark to see anything so I didn't bother. Of course the next morning I saw it. I know exactly the car too - late model red Ford Thunderbird with a spoiler. It really shows up on a black car.

But you're right, it is only a matter of time.

However when I got my car my dealer included a brochure advertising their dent removal service. And they do one the size of a 50¢ piece for free within the first 90 days of ownership. Mine will get fixed at first oil change.

Dude, that sux! Sorry, to hear it. I still haven't got my first one yet, but it's just a matter of time. I can feel it coming. I wouldn't fix it right away though. You know you're bound to get another one as soon as you fix it. If I ever catch someone giving me a door ding, I'll kick the living sh*t out of them. Man, woman, or child.

If you are ever near Manhattan Beach, go see Joe at Red Carpet Car Wash. He is the best there is. I will personally guarantee you your money back if you don't agree...

So far so good with my car. As for my wife's car, seems like a new ding every week! What's up with all these dings? Some people have no respect for our babies

I'm in Calif. DentPro came out to my house and fixed mine for $100. It happened two weeks after I got the car, and I just couldn't stand it.

He chareged an extra $25 because he had to remove some of the trunk lining to fix it. Did a very good job in about an hour.

Angry Dont feel bad

The day after I bought my wife the car, we went to a wedding shower with some friends. Come home, and the garage is well lit up. I see the damn door ding in the rear driver side door, right on the body crease. I was just in shock, but oh well, might as well get it over with now, but damn.....didnt even take one day.....

Good luck getting that one fixed. Typically paintless dent removal does not work when the dent is in a body panel crease. It's too difficult to take the dent out without f'in up the crease line. Hope it works out for you.

I was some distance away from my car when I saw a friend's 8yr old daughter banged their car door into mine in the church parking lot. They quickly sped away and pretended nothing happened. Left a mild dent in two places on my drivers door. I am still dumbfounded.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I guess the parent didn't realize that her kid left a dent, despite the fact that my car gave off a couple of warning beeps from the impact.

Paintless Dent Removal

I've used it a few times on my other cars and it works great. The guy comes to my office and does the car in the parking lot, afterwards i can never tell where the dent was. He only charges $50.00 per body panel too.

Yeah, dat's right. That's exactly what shocked me too. It's a great church but most of the people there are Asian, and Asian (woman especially) have earned a reputation on the road for not caring too much about cars. That's why a lot of them drive Corollas. I guess it's my duty to forgive them.

Q: What do you call a dented Corolla?
A: Is there any other variety?

I'd be careful about making blanket statements about any group...i.e. Asian women....you just combined racism and sexism in one sentence. You're basically perpetuating your racial bias when you say "Asians have earned a reputation" and you're bound to offend some people when you do that.

I see

I see your point. I of course intend no offense towards anyone out there. It's like ok because I'm Asian and I can dog on my homies. This is kinda like how a Black man can call a fellow Black man certain names.

And yes, my mom happens to be an Asian woman driver, which means she drives real slow on the road. And I have other asian women friends who are also lousy drivers, some of them in Corollas too. Whoa, triple whammy!

There is nothing more disrespectful. I hate that people don't respect other people's vehicle. I have used paintless dent removal and I swear by it. No paint, no bondo, no sign of a dent and fairly cheap.

door dings

I hate door dings too but if you are carefull you can avoid door dings most of the time. Going back to my first car Audi 4000S, i've managed to avoid any dings at all by looking first before I park. I usually park at the end of a row or in the back of the lot. I know this is anal but it works. Not one door ding on any car in over 20 years!!!
