Got Broken Endlink?

After hearing sqeak sounds comming from my rear left while braking, I thought it was nothing more then worn pads. Upon further inspections...I was missing the left endlink, worse then that, the bracket that holds the endlink to the car is also missing. I happen to have the Neuspeed Racing Sway Bar that was discontiuned...Some other members with the same bar had their endlinks broken also. I don't remember taking any turns like crazy or driving on any uneven roads....don't really know how it broke.

I was wondering how easy is it to fix it myself? And are there aftermarket endlinks....something thicker then the crappy stock ones?

Ha, holy shit.

We need to get a company to make some beefy end links and brackets asap. I bent my driver's side rear one, too.

When the left one breaks...does that mean that it may be caused from a hard left turn? Since if you make a left turn, all the weight goes to the outer wheels, the right side and the sway bar will try to bring your left tire down...?!!??!

Well, the purpose of the anti-sway bar is to transfer the load from the outer side to the inner side, and keep the car flat. So regardless of which way you turn, both sides will be under load.

However, the left side would be under heavier load when you're turning right. In other words, when you're turning, the outer side will be under heavier load.

Mine broke too...this is a warranty issue. Acura knows about this and as a matter of fact, my dealer replaced BOTH when i brought mine in for a left rear one that was broken. Dealer said this is one of the few things that they can replace as a "Preventative measure". THat tells me Acura is very much aware of the problem of them breaking. Take to dealer and have them replace it.

The Neuspeed sway bars are much thicker than OEM. I know of a few people that have broken end links using that bar.

This is normal. The factory brackets and end-links are not designed for these heavy duty aftermarket sway bars. Wish the heavy duty sways come with heavy duty brackets and heavy duty end-links.

That was the old "race" rear sway bar. That's been discontinued. The new Neuspeed sways I think are smaller than eibach or CT.

If anyone has installed their own ways, they will all say that our endlinks are cheesy. That reminds me, I better check mine. It's been getting a little noisy back there of late.

I was wondering if there would be any problem or would there be any problem arising from not fixing/replacing the endlink immediately? If any problem...premature/uneven tire wear....bending or breaking other brakets/frame?

I'm currently in Hawaii and will be shipping my car back to California in about 1.5 months...was wondering if I could wait until then to get it fixed with no problem...

An for some reason, when I backup and break at the same time there is a sqeeek/sqewling sound comming from the rear left...I checked it out but don't konw what it is

Well, you can drive without the endlink...I think I've been for couple weeks now...you just want handle the turns as fast and you can feel the body roll. I got some noise comming from that area, I don't really konw what it is due to.

Well, they discountined the Race Sway bar...so I think you'll be fine with the Comptech or Eibach...but some people broke their endlinks with those bars too....so it's up to you.

yep! broken almost every single one of mine throughout the 2 years that i've had comptech sways. it's just a price you pay for less body roll and better cornering. i have a friend with an accord who takes my broken ones and welds the good ends back together
