got ass handed to me by civic with b20
I was just coming back from wendys and as I pulled out going right saw a white civic and gassed it to catch up. We both start hauling ass trying to catch a green light under the overpass, the light turns red and we sit there. I was in front of him by about 3 feet and he was to the lane right of me. Light turns green, I let him go ahead, then we both floor the gas. The 2 door civic takes the lead by about a car, and rockets ahead another half car length. Next stop light comes up and it's red. The guy motions for me to pull up next to him, I roll down my window and say, "what you got in that thing?" as his girlfriend looks over 
He says, "B20 all race motor!" I said, "****, I ain't even gonna try you!!"
Light turns green, we both floor it, he takes the lead again by a car length, then turns left at the next stoplight. I gave him the peace sign as I kept going straight.
I was expecting a B18 maybe but he said B20 I was like WTF????
LOL!!!
He even raced with his girl in the car, MY KIND OF GUY!!!
Oh, my 99TL is stock except for a short ram intake...
I think I want that supercharger now, or i'll make my own...
It was quite fun though, first loss to a civic after whupping like a dozen other ones around the city.

Welcome to the club! I was racing against a civic hatchback once and thought it was going to be easy. My wife was in the car with me and I had an AEM CAI at the time. So we both took off and to my surprised he pulled on me. I was like WTF so I caught up to him cause he slowed down and he told me he did an engine swap, bastard! 
:p
Moral of the story, watch out for those civics cause you never know what they might have under their hood.

dont feel bad, yesterday i barely beat a 4cyl accord. He was spraying a 50 shot though, i was running him with my foot 3/4 of the way on the gas by about 4 car lengths. Then all of a sudden he is right next to me and edging up, i held second till redline and kept my foot all the way doen and pulled on him. Was real scary.

of course my 4 door sedan isnt going to accelerate as quick as a 2 door coupe just because mine weighs probably twice as much!! I have only seen one Honda that used a 3.2 TL engine. It was a stuff job and the civic ran 10 second quarter mile!!! Lets hope the honda crowd just sticks with the B series motor and a few die hards can bust their ass putting our huge ass motor in their small hood.
I still cant give up A/C in the pursuit of speed...

I don't think there's any production front engine, front wheel drive car that has even close to 50/50 weight distribution. I guess that guy only run his TL-engined civic in the quarter mile track and nowhere else, because his car will be so front-heavy that it is vitually undrivable on the street.

Infact, here there is a guy who has a modified H22 dropped into a civic EX. Its barely driveable, and it handles like crap. and hes neglected to upgrade the suspension, so the extra weight on the front of the car really makes the front sink. its the ultimate sleeper if you ask me, has the spoon look alike black wheels, everythink on it is stock except the h22 obviously. but i agree, hybrids are starting to take over.
