Post Good news/ bad news

The good news is I finally took the leap and purchased a new TL-S today, Black on black non-nav. The bad news is the dealership I was finally able to come to an agreement with was 2.5 hrs away. The other good news is I had a 2.5 hr. automotive bonding experience with my new TL all the way home !!! Paid $30,500 incl. splash guards and floor mats and got the salesman to throw in a stainless coffee mug for the trip home. I traded a 94' Lexus GS 300 and I don't miss it in the least. The TL is so much more connected to the road and inspires so much more confidence in it's abilities than the Lexus. The GS made you feel like you were driving on ice all the time it was so disconnected from the road. The Lexus was certainly a wonderful car with plenty of amenities but a totally uninvolved driving experience. My wife's CRV was more fun to drive. My previous car to the Lexus was a first generation Vigor so I really feel like I've come home again. I really don't believe I could have gotten a better price around the central NY area as the other dealers here either want almost full msrp or will give you nothing for your trade. The following are just some random musings after taking my virgin voyage: although several have criticized the sound system on this forum it appears to be more than adequate to my ears after several hrs. of both cd and radio listening, certainly equal to the Lexus sound system. Although the interior is not as elegant as my Lexus was I like it just as much, a very no nonsense get down to business sort of style. I wish the sunroof had a one touch auto open/close switch like the driver's window. I mentioned to the salesman to be sure both tailpipes were even b4 I picked up the car, when I arrived 2 days later to make the purchase he said I was the 1st to mention this and he subsequently checked all their inventory and found at least half of them to be misaligned. He also was surprised I was aware of the window recall (thankyou forum). I had originally negotiated for the WDP color but have always wanted a glossy black car so changed my mind at the 11th hr. and after studying both cars at the dealer I'm glad I did. I wonder how many times I'll wash the car b4 I regret that decision ? I absolutely love the steering wheel audio controls! I found none of the door misalignment problems mentioned on previous posts and the doors close easier than on my Lexus. Finally, sorry for the length of the post I just wanted to address as amny issues as possible. Hope this can be useful info. for others.
