Is this a good deal on 03 Accord V6???
I did spoke with the seller today and he stated that only thing wrong is the "check engine light" displays on and off, cuz it needs an 02 sensor. He's willing to let it go for $4500. Might pick it up within the next two days. So what do you guys think? Let me know.

I'm a thrill seeker in my
Damn that's a lot of miles. I suppose if it comes with a pretty clean carfax and clears an inspection nicely it would be an okay buy. I don't know if $4500 is worthwhile with that many miles, but depends how the car is overall.

Belongs in Car Talk, but w/e.
Don't take his word on the CEL, my bet is that he knows something else is wrong with the car and that's why he's letting it go for cheap. If it's such an easy fix, ask him why couldn't he get it done?
If he says it's well-maintained, ask for service records. Have the transmission checked. That car had the same problems as the 2G TL.
I think he's hiding something. My

If you have access to a code reader, take it with you. If the owner doesn't let you hook it up to read the codes, he's hiding something. At this point DO NOT BUY THE CAR! I wouldn't even test drive it.

1. He describes the car as "works just fine". I'm assuming he mentioned the CEL problem only when you contacted him and probed for more info. Shady as shit.
2. 184k miles on an '03 is quite a bit but not THAT big of a deal. My '03 has 142k miles on it only because my lifestyle changed in the last few years. Otherwise I would probably be at 170k and my car is still in good condition (with no CEL problem, I might add).
I guess if you are really that interested, go test drive it. Hook up an OBDII scanner to see what the problem is. Print out a list of the codes and the problem description so you can look it up right there on the spot. Make sure you get the Honda list; though OBDII is universal, some codes vary among manufacturers.
$4,500 is a decent price assuming there is nothing wrong. But definitely ask for maintenance records. At that mileage, a lot of works needed/needs to be done like timing belt, water pump, CV joints, bearings, etc.

I would pick up that car, but make sure you bring an obd scanner and check the transmission.

what? no way its a downgrade those accords are way newer looking and based off the 3 gen tl platform. The car has a way newer feel when driving it compared to the tl. almost everything about that car is better than the tls but the gay auto tranny.

Alright, I got to the owner's home and there was another buyer there. He got there about 15 minutes before me. Everthing about the car was very cleaned and still drove very nice. The check engine light wasn't on at the time. We both like the accord, but he offer to pay $5k and I only offer $4.8k. So he drove home with the car...it's no bid deal...guess it wasn't meant to be...later.
