Good cheap mechanic in OC CAL
Hey everyone,
Can you recommend a good cheap alternative to the local Acura dealer in Orange County CAL. I'm looking to get my brake replaced, major tune-up and detail for my Acura TL 2000.
Thanks!

Brakes and tune-up are so easy most people do it at home and spend the money on better parts
Otherwise see MrHeelToe in Mission Viejo
For what the dealer charges for brakes he can set you up with the Ultra in brakes
www.heeltoeauto.com and you can see his post in Off Topic Sponsored Sales area
look at the black border at top of every page here- click off topic then scroll halfway down and there is private sales and sponsored sales
Detail shop- look up Excel Detail in Thousand Oaks-
he is an acurazine supporter/authorized vendor and does amazing work
Major tune up on a TL is just a K&N air filter, oil/filter change and NGK Iridium plugs- all simple. Never hurts to flush the trans fluid once a year as well- easier than changing the engine oil
No wires to replace- no cap and rotor etc

Good Catch Bob
Let me be clear for newbies on the board
Its perfectly safe to do a 3x "flush" on the gen 2 TL, and will prolong the life of your trans.
Do it annually on replacement units too
This method is: warm the car driving 5 minutes.
Drain 3 qts- thats all it will give you.
Add 3 quarts HONDA fluid and drive 5 minutes
Drain 3 qts
Add 3 qts and drive 5 minutes
Drain 3 qts Add 3 qts- Done
That does as much of a full change of the 10 qt capacity of the transmission as possible
7 qts old with 3 new is not much of a change in fluid
