Gonna Do Sways On Saturday

Gonna do the sways and the neuspeed upper strut brace. I need to knoe (read the FAQ already) if I should pick up the car and where, and if where I hold the car up is going to affect the ease of install. Anyone done this, where do I need to put the jack stands to be able to take off the old bars and but the new ones on?

Also, do I pick the car up for the upper strut, or leave it down to do that, and what are the torque settings for all of the bolts, the FAQ lacked that as well, for the front end sway and none for the upper tie bar, I would assume the front sway gets 28 lb/ft like the rear. But even 28 lb/ft seems like too little right?

when i put on my strut bar, it was really easy... i didnt need to jack up the car at all... place one side of the strut bar into the holes... then the other side wont fit snuggly, even if u press really hard. get a hammer and a towel... put the towel on the strut bar and lightly tap it, itll get in easily. thats it, tighten and ure good to go.

i dont know much bout how much to lift it though... those ramps are easier to deal with

Some ppl need to jack up there car putting on the strut bar...this was mainly cars that are not relatively new or have been lowered. So if your car is fairly new or you don't have springs...u probably don't have to jack up ur car.

For sway...jack up the car...spray ALOT of lubricant!!!!!! Be carful not the strip the bolts. And the HEX screw is HARD to get loose...i installed it about 20,000 miles and it was all rusted.

Got 25k on the car...great this oughta be fun. I hope that the sway will be easy, I am gonna get a few bottles of WD-40, with these they sent me teflon tape not grease for the bushings like I had heard, is that right (I ordered off of here, ACP.com)

Yes, The teflon tape is the current lube tech for the bar. Just get enough layers of teflon tape as instructed and you'll be squeak free.

Have fun. You'll get a lot of bang for the buck with the sways.

No loctite needed.

The sway bar bushing brackets are 28 ft lbs. of torque for both the front and rear. Not sure on the end links but firm with hand tools is fine. Not sure on the upper strut bar bolts but I think it's in the 30 ft lbs. range.
