going to dealership tomorrow
hey.. well tomorrow/today i am going to the dealership at around 11am-12am.. to get my brakes fixed, the steering wheel shakes whenever i brake.. but today when i pulled out of a parking, from R to D4, i heard a grind that lasted about 2-3 seconds, it was not too loud but the passenger and i both heard it.. and after that i was worried that it might be my transmission messing up now.. so what should i tell the dealership tomorrow about my trans.? and what is this oil jet kit everyone is talking about? i need replies ASAP.. thank u..

The oil jet kit is the 'fix' that Acura has come up with because of the 2nd Generation Tl transmission's high incidence of gear breakage (2nd gear) from being underoiled. Breakage of the gear can cause the car to decelerate abruptly causing an accident. The oil jet apparently squirts oil onto the gear. When you bring your car to Acura, they will inspect the 2nd gear, and will replace the transmission if the gear looks damaged or appears to have a high probability of failing. If not, then they will install the oil jet kit. It took the tech. ~ 1.5 hours to install mine. The oil jet is part of a nationwide recall regarding the 99-03 TL models. You should have received notification from Acura.

I just realized the oil jet kit is for the 2000-03 TL's and not apparently for the 1999 model year- sorry for the misinformation
