The LED conversion is not a plug and play deal. If anyone thinks that way, they will not be pleased with the outcomes. The led bulb technology just isn't there yet to equal the output of the stock incandesant bulbs. The stock incandesant bulbs are a #24 size, PM me if you need some, I have plenty.

I have a members gauge cluster that I'm modding for them, and he had these bulbs installed. I was curious to see what they look like. I was disappointed on how bad the hot spot was and how it doesnt disperse the light like my original led plans I handed over to Ledautomotive.

SO the brightest I can get my gauges without any serious modding would be stock?

Are you modding them like yours? Any way Ledautomotive will give me a $50 refend

I was thinking about getting the LED for my gauge, simply because I like to have the blue LED similar to what the 3Gs have. I'm guessing I shouldn't get it anymore? Is there any other alternative, other than using the stock bulbs. I really want blue gauges =/

Nope, sorry. The LED bulbs that are out right now just don't produce enough dispersed light outout to equal what the stock incandesant bulbs do. Somthing like this might be able to accomplish this, though they would also need to be modified in order to fit into the bulb sockets. But, at $10 each, I'd rather make something out of single leds on my own which I know will work.

Yes I'm modding them like mine....actually I'm finished with it now. I would have to say no on returning the LEDs to Nate. But now that I have seen them in person, I can truely say I dont recommend them. Which is a shame...as they did look promising.

gaping46and2 - are you saying that it isn't going to be very bright with the ledautomotive's products? I just bought $50 worth of leds from them because i read on here that is the company to get them from. Is it not worth my time?

They aren't going to be very bright, and you will have hotspots. If at all possible, I would return them and get my money back. If you are able to solder, I'd purchase single LED bulbs and resistors and wire everything yourself. If you're going to do the LED conversion, do it right. It's not easy, and it takes a long time. You can't expect to spend $50, plug it all in and have everything looking like the newer 3rd Gen TL gauges, that's just not how it works, sorry.

Oh, well to clarify...I have only purchased the sunroof, cruise, select/reset, climate control/clock so far. Is it just the guage cluster that is too dim?

The gauge cluster kit they sell will give you less than satifactory outcomes.

So, from what I gather, the best thing to do is to buy the LEDs for the gauges separately, rather than buying the all-in-one plug, solder them in... Will that create decent lighting without any hotspots?

i guess i better learn how to solder.......I have never done it..... and it would be a shame if I i ruined the entire gauge because of my 'noobness'.... damn that sucks; i have no idea where to start learning how to solder them in....Is it worth soldering it in?? Will I be happy with the lighting from the soldering?

If you have never soldered before, this really isn't a project you should jump right into and try. There are several problems that can occur and you can ruin your entire gauge cluster. Check THIS thread out to see one example. Try practicing on something else, or maybe buy a used cluster off ebay or a salvage yard to try out. That way, if you mess up, it's not a big deal.

yeah... i think i would rather spend the extra $100 to test it out on this used cluster gauge (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...spagenameZWD1V
and see how i do on it before i go to the real deal. Now the problem that the person had in his switch was that he used the wrong bulbs. But which bulbs should i order for my 02 TL-S, since i have to solder them in one at a time?
