Getting my TL back
so my dad calls me while i am at school to tell me that the shop had rebuilt my transmission and is ready to go. he then tells me that the shop told him that whomever rebuilt the transmission before did the shittiest job he has ever seen. They used incorrect parts, used parts, the wrong fluid, and other things. but now they rebuilt it with all the correct honda parts and stuff. they even checked everything around and in the drivetrain and checked the engine to make sure nothing was messed up any more cause of it but found nothing. i am about to call the shop and get more information out of it so i can file a BBB complaint on the shop that rebuilt it before, as soon as i figure out the name of it.

you need a receipt from the last shop to do anything about it
Consumer Affairs in your state govt is the agency with real teeth
BBB is a voluntary organization to join

Good to hear man your cars gettin fixed.
I found some videos of what our transmissions look like when they die taken apart by a trans shop.
I found it interesting what they are like and what's happening.

BBB works IF the company belongs to it--if so- then they agreed to binding arbitration over your complaint - a panel reviews and decides who is in the right or wrong
they are not auto repair specialist, and cannot help if the biz is not a member of their group
BUT
shops must be licensed in every state= as far as I know
meaning they have an oversight and licensing divisiion--they can decide if a shop should even still be in business!! or order restitution on bad work,, or whatever the case needs

I'm in Greensboro. Not too bad of a place really.
I found out that the shop has zero percent customer satisfaction and has relocated and changed names like three times. Very mad about it but I'm glad I wasnt the one to have gone there or shit would have gone down but i am upset that i was the receiving end of their immoral business practices.

if the prior work was done before you owned the car--forget getting much help--warranty usually applies to owner at time of repair
and a shop that bad wont have money to pay you for repairs elsewhere
You can go online and the newpaper detailing your experience and findings along with the shops present and past names and locations
thats just spreading truth/facts,, and is legal to do
Its a good lesson for all to really really really ck out the shop you plan to use
Ask for customer referrals you can call- from TL owners who had work done there
other cars dont make a differance--only TL/CL trans repairs count for experience

i totally agree with you. its a good learning experience, a bit pricey though for it but nonetheless something to take from it when looking at buying a car. the shop its at now has done many TL/CL/ACCORD trans repairs and even has a 6 speed trans sitting outside. YES, i wanted that to go in there but it was WAY toooo much money haha
