Whenever im out driving in my 2003 TL at night I notice how some people flash me with their hi beams when i get close to them.Maybe they think my brights are on but they are not. Does anyone have similar experience?
Yup. The darker the road (ie. no street lights) the more likely you are to get flashed.
I have noticed something interesting. When I run with the fogs I rarely get flashed. Most of the time I only run them when its raining. I wonder if the yellow light from the fogs diffuse the HID blue?

Ugh...people do that to me in my 03 ALL THE TIME. It has gotten to the point where it TOTALLY aggravates me, so when they do it (even from far away) I turn on my brights and BLIND THEM! I know, I'm a bi*ch, but, WHATEVER

I think the reason is because the foglights are yellow and it will make the oncoming traffic people realize that you have HIDs on. Our HIDs are white, not bluish/white like BMW so some people may mistaken that our high-beams are on since when you turn on high-beams, the color output is somewhat white. If our HIDs were bluish/white, people would easily recognize that we have HIDs on. But since our HIDs are white, it doesn't look as different as halogen bulbs compared to bluish/white HIDs.

the worst is when a truck is behind u and his lights are right in ur review mirror and it seems like his brights are on, that happens all the time to me. anyways remember u have HID's so they are alot brighter than regular headlights. also i read somewhere they were gonna get rid of the HID's cause they cause accidents and things like that. so soon our headlights might be illegal
HID is the new headlight for future cars. It's a big step forward in terms of automotive lighting technology. They are not going to put those away so easily. Look back at teh halogen days. People complained about white lights, but you see them everywhere. People are just jealous of what they cannot have
I get flashed all the time but i am not sure if it is becasue of my HID's or there is a cop but most of the time i just slow down becasue although HID's are bright there are so many
cars that have them so it is always smarter to be safe then sorry !!!!!

I think there are little screws that you turn to adjust it, but I've tried and it seems like mine are stuck. I dont get flashed too much in my TL... but on my old infiniti I had 9004 bulbs (dual filament) and I put a HID conversion in, and I used to get flashed ALL THE TIME! Made me so mad. with those, I just flicked em off and on real quick cause it doubled the brightness for a second, blared the horn, and flicked them off! LOL.... so when I got in my TL, I noticed for the first month I was always ansy about being flashed and had my hand on the high beam switch most of the time! LOL... talk about extreme paranoia!
