Getting Body Damage Fixed
I'm having the damage from my hit and run incident appraised tommorow, and apparently USAA will issue me a check and I can get it fixed anywhere I want. If actual cost goes over appraised cost, they will issue me a supplemental check to cover that cost.
Has anyone here gotten their TL fixed at a bodyshop? How was the work? Do they have exact paint matching capabilities?
I want genuine Acura parts used and EXACT paint(down to the little blue particles in my NBP) used. Can a bodyshop do this?
Do Acura dealers have a bodyshop?
Any advice you guys can lend would be great! Thanks.

Hey Pritch, Badazz had his body worked on and took it to Acura to do. They farmed it out to Ford because Ford has a pretty good body shop, at least that's what they told him. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's looking good...give Badazz a holler and see how things went with him. I don't think Riddle or Hall have their own body shop, but farm out the work...

My car had a new door painted and a new fender at another time. Both hit and run but when it was parked. Anyway its NBP and the paint is exact can't ever tell. Make sure they have an oven to bake the paint, that they mix their own paint and that they spray test panels.

NHB, thanks for the info.
Good to hear that your paint matches. You mentioned an oven bake, do they bake the entire car? If so, doesn't this affect the existing paint?
What test panels do they spray?

Just make sure you go to a reputable body shop. Make sure they have their own dust free room to paint and that they do all the things that nighthawk mentioned. I cant stress enough you get what you paid for so be very careful and choose wisely no matter what the cost, because with a shltty paint job, you may be paying for it down the line
