Genuine Honduh/Acura performance parts
For those of you who don't hang out at the CL forum too, here is a story about Honduh finally getting into the aftermarket parts game..

About time, maybe prices will start to decrease on some products. At least there will be more variety now... and who knows, we may see more production cars that have these performace parts standard..

Damn about time!
Damn its about thime Honda did this. i was wondering and just about to ask why honda does not do this. I mean Toyota even has it for their Toyota line up and Lexus line. TRD has superchargers that they install at the dealership! Thats what I'm talking about. And Ford has SVT another awesome division. I am glad to see Honda step up. I hope this is going to happen in the near future, maybe all the Mugen parts will drop a little in price too. Hopefully they can bring over the 1st GEN Mugen parts too.

Honda just couldn't ignore the tuner market any more. That market is experiencing explosive sales growth. According to the article in autonews.com the market segment generate over $1B in sales at very attractive margins. The move is all about money.

I am not trying to be a betrayer here, but I think because Toyota has always been a bigger car manufacturer in Japan. They spend more money in performance parts R&D. Particularly in Asian markets, you can find Toyota authorize agents to install TOM's and TRD performance parts very easily.

Sounds like they are still several years away before we see Mugen parts available at a dealership near you.
