Hi guys,

This may be a dumb question, but I was just wondering if the TLs and the TL-S have a little flap that covers the opening of the gas tank when there isn't a nozzel placed into the hole.

I was just filling up my tank the other day and I noticed that as soon as I unscrew the cap, you can see right into the tank (well, it is just a black hole, can't actually see the gas or anything). I swear I remember there being a flap that is forced open when you stick in the fuel nozzel.

If i'm wrong...my bad.

My 2003 TL-S does not have a flap.

Yep, 2002 TLS here with no flap.

Yah no flap on the '02 or '03 TLs. I remember my Legend having that flap because I once poured in a bottle of those octane booster/cleaner and the darn bottle got stuck because of the flap.

Just think of it as Acura's cost cutting measures so the HIDs can be standard equipment.

No flap. Be sure to tighten your gas cap at least three clicks like the manual says or your "check engine" light will come on.
