I did Seafoam my car the other day, Got 330 mileage max with full gallon. Most I have ever gotten with this car. But out of curiosity, aren't tl suppose to be getting 17/21 MPG? I mean, that's what it says on KBB or other car review. I honestly don't know how some of you guys are getting 30mpg?

The 30 MPG on a TL is only obtainable when driving under ideal conditions on a long distance trip.
With the average mix of normal highway driving, 25 MPG is more realistic....IMO.

^ Got 32MPG Once! I usually get 30mpgs on daily basis.
But the City MPG is what strike me the most! 17mpg? I never had those even when Brand New I was getting close to 20 now I get 23-24mpgs solid.. 17 and 27? get the hell out of here.. Never bothered with those in 13 years

If you see the MPG.gov for the TL the user score is more realistic than the official ones. 2002 Acura 3.2TL:

Must be the optimum barometric air pressure of California......over here on the Atlantic side, our relative humidity and varying terrain plays havoc on overall MPG.

Yeah.....if you're able to get 30 MPG on the average, that's awesome IMO.

Plus, you guys don't have to deal with the winter "Rust Belt" issues over here on the Eastern side !!!

Pennsylvania does have a state DMV.
However, rural areas don't require smog testing for emissions. The larger cities do the annual smog checks.

Funny thing only some Zip Codes in San Diego require Smog Testing, Had to live in a Zip Code where Annual smog testing is enhanced.. Lucky Me...

I rarely get anything less than 30 on the hwy with cruise set at 75 to 80. I've gotten as high as 500 to a tank on multiple occasions

How much would you like to place on that bet? That's when I got the highest per tank, I haven't gotten 500 to a tank yet with the 6 speed. With the manual I'm running 750 rpm higher on the hwy but still easily achieve 30+

I'm not a betting kind of person, but I only know that I've never been able to even get 400 miles from a tank of gas.....even on a trip !!! Must be our hillbilly terrain, IDK.

500 MILES @ 30MPG = running on "MT" to me.

i get around 14 doing mixed city and highway. completely cleaned the intake manifold and the ergs. erg valve cleaned. used injector cleaners and no difference.

Think changing the spark plugs would help?

Just a side note I've been using the royal purple too and i feel like after 6k miles now its still almost as clean and slippery as the day i put it in. 10-15k miles really shouldn't be a problem with a quality oil like the mobile and royal purple (just to back that up once again)
