i know there are thread son ths but i dont want to bring back an old one....my problem is that i've been averageing about 17 mpg with my tls...this seems pretty low to me....altho i do drive pretty much all locally, and i do have a pretty heavy foot (never full throttle really or enough to chirp the tires....im just always ahead once the light turns green...except once..damn porsche)...but would this all give me that low of a gas milage...i would think i get atleast 20.....coudl somethign be wrong with my car?...and my foot really isnt that havey...my sister about the same as me if not worse since she doesnt have our mom watchign her drive...but she still gets 20 mpg in her accord (bassicaly the same car)

coud soemthign be wrong with my car or is it me?

Its just you. I have had it go as low as 14mpg and that was with all city driving and a heavy foot.

i get about the same MPG with City driving.

It seems as if people on this board either get really good or really bad gas mileage. I'm one of the lucky ones. I average around 24 in the city driving conservatively. With a heavy foot, I still manage 21. In the highway, 32+ is common and I hit 33+ once in the winter on the way to NY.

Worst I ever gotten was 19 mpg. Most I ever got is 30 mpg. This is on a 99TL with 4 gears. It all depends on your driving habits and state your car is in too.

i get 14mpg all the time, heavy foot + LA driving

I managed to get 27mpg enroute to Las Vegas on a mostly empty freeway running (of course) premium and doing 75mph 99% of the time on cruise.

when I used to put premium in my TL, and flooring the car from every stop light or stop sign, the worst I ever got was 19 MPG. The highest I ever got on the premium was 28 on a trip to the mexican boarder to buy cheap perscription drugs.

Around 6 months I stopped using premium completely. I have not had less than 21-22 MPG since. I don't know if my driving habits changed or what the deal is but I have been having good gas mileage for a while.

When I had a 95 accord the gas mileage was actually less then this car...

If your getting poor gas mileage try using some of the STP fuel cleaner. I put a bottle in the tank after every oil change and it works great. Pick some up and give it a try... It couldn't hurt...

Mileage depends so much on the driver and city vs. highway. I average a pretty consistent 24 mpg with about a 50/50 mix.

I have an 03 with under 1k miles:
Best - 22mpg
worst- 15.5 mpg
Maybe has to do with the break in?
