I did a search, but didn't see anyone that was reporting this problem. The last two times I filled my TL, I have a noticed a strong smell of gas in the cabin after filling. The first time when the auto-shutoff on the pump hit, some gas leaked out from under my car above the wheel well. It definitely did not run down the side of my car, but came out from underneath. The second time I was paying more attention and didn't notice any leaking, but did still smell gas in the cabin for about 10 minutes after fueling.

Anyone know what this is? My 03 only have 85k on her, but she is getting a little bit long in the tooth.

Check charcoal cannister.

85k long in the tooth? no--car barely broken in yet!
finally needs spark plugs-seafoam-maybe valve adjust early to get it done
clean egr system and its ready to go

do you often fill it above the first shutoff? if so, I agree with flooded charcoal cannister
That holds VAPORS but does not deal well with real fuel

beyond that, pull a panel and look for loose hase clamps, bad hose
