Gas gauge readout

No matter how high I fill my tank up the highest the needle gets from the "F" is about 1/5 off. I'll fill it up sometimes when it gets down and the light shines on and it only fills up to a maximum of like 15-15.5 gallons. Is the needle not calibrated and is there any way to fix this gauge.

some gas pumps shut off before others meaning that you can still fill more and that may be why the neadle isn't going up to F.

Try filling until gas spills out the top (safety/enviornmental hazard, so stop quickly). Make sure you clean up the spillage on your pannel or else it will stain.

If it still reads low, then you've got a problem, but otherwise, don't worry

I would not fill up a modern car until the gas spills from the top. The reason is...

On many cars there is a charcoal cannister that acts as a filter for emmissions from the gas tank. On some cars, this vent line is connected up near the gas filler. If you overfill, you can get gas in your charcoal cannister and shorten its life.

Unfortunately, I am not sure if the TL has this. I looked, but didn't see one.

I just looked at the emissions sticker under the hood. The TL has one, it's just not under the hood. It's called an evap. cannister.

I believe there is an acura bulletin on this. Mine did the same thing and I had it fixed under warranty. As said before take it to your dealership.

My car is a '99 and was bought, (by my father), as a used car . I bought it from a used dealership that bought the car from Canada. The car is under warranty but it means that I need to get it sent to Canada and back in order to get it fixed.
