I couldnt figure mine out... but if you have your owners manual it says how to do it in there. (my garage has like a rolling codes, coder or something, and the one that comes with the car cant do that. or atleast it cant on my 1999)

It's pretty easy if you have the manual.

ok well i have a 99 and it does work on the rolling codes...
from the 99 owners manual (condensed of course)
1. push and hold the two outside buttons to erase any codes on the homelink transmitter
2.unplug the garage door opener,
3.find which button you want to use, push the button on the remote for the garage door and the homelink transmitter (the one built into the car) at the same time.
4.the red light should flash slowly then faster
5. when the red light flashes rapidly release both buttons
6. plug in garage door opener and see if it works if not try again if after training it still does not work you may have a rolling code garage door opener (repeat for other two buttons)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
for rolling code garage door openers
1. make sure to erase codes again by pushing the two outside buttons on the homelink transmitter
2.find the training button on your garage door opener...all the ones i have ever seen have been white and facing away from the garage door
3.press the training button on the garage door opener on the opener until the light next to the button comes on it may flash but you on ly have 30 seconds to finish...
4. push your desired homelink button then press it again this should turn off the training button on the opener it may take up to 3 times to program the garage door opener
5. press the homelink button you just programmed, it should open the garage door
hope this helps

still no luck... and im positive it works b/c my dads 05 maxima my stepmoms 04 mdx my dads old 03 tl-p, and my old car a 2000 maxima all worked with the garage openers... heres exactly what i did... i pressed the 2 end buttons together til the light flashed quickly and turned off to reset it... i think held down the garage opener button and 1 of the homelink buttons... the homelink light started flashing slowly... then after about a minute it turned off.. and nothing happened. is there any possible way i could be doing something wrong here? and i dont exactly understand what is meant by the rolling code method... b/c idk where this training button would be located... i dont mean to be a noob b/c i programmed all the other homelinks on our cars, but yeah im getting very irritated lol... help would be great. thanks.

you need to find the training button on the garage door opener itself. Not the remotes. Follow the rolling code directions in the manual or posted above.
