Also if you are still running with the stock suspension, your readings will be off because weight transfer during take-off will fool the gtech into thinking that its moving forward faster than you actually are.

As posted above, placement on the windshield is important. The unit has to be pointed dead straight.

My times with mods were a little higher. I think yours might be optimistic.

One thing I found when using the Gtech for horsepower. Keep the transmission in sport shift so that you can redline BUT make sure you shift before fuel cut-off. If you hit fuel cut-off it will screw up the readings completely. Has to do with the halting acceleration that will occur.

If the unit is pointed left or right of centerline your times will be slower than actual.

As for the HP readings, regardless of fuel cut off decels, the unit will retain and display the max HP for the run which should be at or near the redline.

Post G-Tech Pro readings

I bought my Dad a gtech pro for Christmas, but what kind of son would I be if I didn't insure that his present was operational! So I've been racing my stock '00 TL around my favorite strips.

My readings 0-60 and quarter mile have been quite varied, but very good (I think too good) overall. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm on level ground, in accel mode 0-60-1/4 setting. Hit the button, I get the go sign and I floor it - my 0-60 readings have been between 6.02 and 6.90, with the majority in the 6.3-6.5 range.

I've made about a dozen runs so far, so my findings are probably statistically insignificant, but I thought I read on this board times in the 7's for stock cars and times in the high 6's with mods -

Am I doing something wrong or do I have a car that was accidently built better?

Your times sound a little too good to be true. Other people who have used GTech Pro's average around 6.7 for 0-60:

Somewhere on this board someone pointed out that the placement of the unit matters... your times will be shorter than reality.

After reading the other links, checking my notes, and making a few more runs, I see that all of my timings were in the 20 - 30 degree range (Cold NJ mornings) and that my best times were not on the most level road. My 6.3 - 6.5 times are standing true on my level drag strip though - granted they are with cold temperatures, less than a half tank of gas, and with stock suspension.
