i hear a high pitch sound when im driving is that the transmisson mine is under the recall and ext warranty i have a date with the dealer this week

anybody who had transmission problems ever had any kind of high pitch noise when driving

 

nope, not in the 5 failures i had. some have experienced it after they had it replaced though

 

I am on my 3rd transmission when they were dying, they shift hard and jerk the car. I did not notice any high pitch noise. Also check your bearing ... could be the water pump or something....

uhoh my brand new tranny still has the occasional hard shifts ... looks like i should be worried... and it also has the high pitch sound you speak of

 

are the dearlers giving people a hard time changing the transmission even if its under the warranty or recall (its seems like everybody had a problem is there anybody who have never change there tranny or no problems with a 100k+ miles)

 

my dealer gave me a problem when i went there complaining of hard shifts... they told me it was fine ... a month later it died... it really just depends where you go ive read of people on here going there and getting it replaced no problem before it officially died... you wont know until you try.

 

just came from the dealer they said the transmission is ok and installed oil jet kit hope anything is good

 

sorry to thread jack... but ocassionally when stomp on the gas from 2nd to 3rd i feel the tranny shifting hard as hell into 3rd... is that normal? the tranny has been replaced about 6k miles ago..

 

Cab NY, I have had an 03 s-type for a couple months now. It makes a high pitched turbine kind of sound. Was told by service mgr that sound is typical. The car shifts ok and has had the oil jet service. Was told if trans fails, I'm covered. So just have fun.

Question - When the dealer performs the oil jet service do they also do a trans fluid change?

 

thats the same noise i hear it been like that for along time so far no problems maybe its normal thanks
