Front windshield fogging up

I'm just curious... I know that when the inside of the front windshield is fogged up, and you turn on AC, it goes away faster. I noticed when I use the heat, it's not that fast. What causes the windshield to fog up? Can I prevent it somehow?

moisture makes the window fog up. A/C removes moisture. hence it defoging. heat just makes it evaporate into the car. and it comes right back next time you get in.

Couldn't of said it better! Many older cars don't automatically kick on the AC when you hit the defogger button. Newer cars, especially with auto climate control, will defog the windows very quickly. Plus, make sure you keep your fresh/recirculation button to fresh air whenver moisture is present. I laugh my ass off when I see people driving around with all the windows completely fogged up, I know it's because they have their fresh air off all the time...dumb asses! Same people who drive in bad weather with no lights on....

Rain-X makes a window defogger. You spray it on a rag and apply to inside of windshield and other windows. I think you might have to be careful about using on other windows that have tint though, and I'm sure it will mention this on the bottle when you buy it.

When it fogs up just use defrost and make sure the recirc button is set to outside air like the others said. Those to combinations will help get rid of any you have
