Front turn signals burned out... advice on replacements?

Front turn signals burned out... advice on replacements?
This morning, I noticed that my front left turn signal is not working anymore. I figure it burned out since it's a Polarg M-12 that I put on about 3 years ago...
What is the recommended front turn signal bulbs these days? I'm looking for something that is a good match for the xenon headlights. Frankly, I thought the M-12's were a poor match...

Ok, so I noticed today that when I signal, my front turn signal works. But it doesn't work when my headlights are on. Does this make sense? Shouldn't both functions not work if the bulb is burnt out?
