front license plate
front license plate
does anyone know any states that have to have front license plate.. because i know that in Washington you are required to have front plates... is there anywhere else in the states that say that you have to have a front plate.. and what is the fine if they catch you with out a front plate...?
Most states require them. I know some of the southern states don't. Here in Maryland the fine is $50 I think. It's been a few years since I've gotten one. I finally just started putting them on my cars. I hate it, but what can you do?
Texas has one in the front, Louisiana does not.
I don't know what the fines are if you're caught in Texas without a front plate, but it doesn't seem like anything they want to crack down on, as I see multiple cars without them all the time.

NY you must have.I notice that a couple of years ago only NY require front and back. Down south, like PA,VA,NC didin't require a couple of years ago. RI and MA didin't either but now I see a few car with front but not all.
We are aso require to display our inspection and registration sticker, again, some states down south and up north aren't require to display more than inspection.
And here, ticket is usually over 100 plus court fee.
Edit: got a ticket once for sitting on a milk crate, came up to 135$

I thought Washington didn't have to have two plates? When I bought tags for my brothers truck, they only gave me one sticker and I know he has only one plate. I bought my TL near Seattle and it only had one plate on it. I live in Oregon and I know we are suppose to have both plates, but I have decided to keep the front plate off because I think it is SOOOO ugly with it on... sticks out too much!! I guess when I get pulled over I will put it on but for now, it's staying off.
The kid I sold my 98 Jetta to, took off the front plates and he lives in Olympia.
Maybe I'm wrong about Washington?? Maybe they make you have 2 plates but only issue one sticker to put on the plate??

In Washington you only get one new reg. tab...it goes on the rear plate. But WA requires two plates. Smoky's most likely gonna see that tab from the rear, not the front...i guess that's the reason. r.s.
trust me, ive payed plenty for the clean bumper look, its worth it. i keep my front plate under the passenger seat & if i get pulled over, i throw it on the dash & say it got bumped off & i need a new bracket. its helped plenty of times
