That sounds HIGH on price. I just bought an 03 w/ 62k for under $16 out the door. It is off-lease and SUPERclean. What you need to do is find a local wholesale dealer that is willing to go to an Acura/Honda factory auction where there are a lot of off-lease vehicles, buy one that you want and put some small markup on it. Small markup = $500 around here.
Actually you should be able to sit down in his office, look online at auction sites that your dealer is willing to visit. They will show you what cars are selling for what pricing; they even list the mileage, color, etc. and most of the time a pic. It's the wholesaler's version of the Autotrader.
Or go to kbb.com and check the values. I would say it's a buyer's market right now, you should be able to get pretty much any car from a dealer for around the "private party" pricing on that site; or maybe even less.
My .02
Oh, I see the problem, your in Mass. LOL

Just did a quick look at kbb.com -
Trade in $13,075, Private party $16,115 and Retail $19,265 that was for a zip in SC though and the condition of the car as "excellent".
You should be able to buy that car for around $16,500 no prob. Be prepared to walk and don't show emotion; he will salivate and not drop the price.
He probably has between $13 and $14 in that car, if he knows how to buy them. If it's an Acura dealer where they do the $800 brake jobs, he obviously has more in it depending on what type or work it needed.

autotrader all the way. BYW Mass has some of the cheapest prices for cars of any New England state. I have bought every car I own in Mass because New Hampshire and Maine are too expensive. You only pay sales tax if you live in Mass. and I don't hahahahaha

yeah i know. bastards.
we also have to pay sales tax even if we buy the car in NH which is tax free.. b/c the car will be registered in mass.. messed up.

btw, when i say local dealer, i didn't mean acura dealer, just a auto sales place next to my house.. i drive by just to see if anybody buys it..
waaay too much for the miles. i bought my '02 TL-S w/ navi (44K miles) from a dealer in Oct '04 for less than $19K (that includes ext. warranty). it was just bought back from a lease. I would say negotiate down, or just look elsewhere...
