Former DSM'er, New TL owner
Hello everyone. Not sure if this is the correct forum..and if not i apologize. Just wanted to introduce myself. I recently purchased a dark green 99 TL after driving a 93 Talon Tsi. I still have the Talon but i decided it was time substitue speed for style. So far i love everything about the car EXCEPT for some reason the front grill is gold instead of silver. It definitely does not go well with the rest of the car. So if anyone is selling a silver one, let me know Otherwise ill be browsing the for sale sections. Anyway, i look forward to participating. Thanks

just take the grill to a body shop and have them paint it body color, it looks fucking pimp, and no one around you will have it. When i did it, it changed the look of my front end like crazy.

Not speed compared to some of the Talon TSI's Ive seen out there. THose things are crazy, AWD, REALLY light and the turbo...
I'm sorry to say the TL wouldn't be much competition for even a slightly modified DSM

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. While the TL is quick its own right its really no match for the DSM. I didnt buy this car to go fast though. Just wanted something that wasnt overly expensive, but had the luxury options...leather, sunroof, navigation, etc. Im really not into modding cars to make then faster anymore. Quite frankly i dont have the time. Im still debating whether or not to sell the dsm

welcome aboard
i know the TL is no race car.. but with a few bolt-ons you can make your 99TL run in the 14s and top out at speeds over 155mph.. that's pretty fast for a heavy sedan!
enjoy the ride

From a former DSM'er (94' Talon ES) the biggest thing I miss is the ability to park ANYWHERE, the mileage (upwards of 40mph/hwy for mine) and most of all....handling.
I also have over 70k miles on it's second set of tires (Goodyear RSA H-rated). The NT's rarely had a chance to burn rubber off the line. The only thing I did to mine was a Borla catback, good ole' K&N drop in filter and I ported the stock exhaust manifold.
What you may NOT miss?? That four cylinder droaning noise.
