Fogging in foglights
i recently noticed that it is fogging inside the passenger side foglight and it left a bit of water drops inside. I was wondering what is the best way to dry it completely out? The bulb in there also burned out so could it be because of the moisture in there?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Take that **** to Acura to get it warrantied out man..unless u modified the Fog light housing, then they won't cover it. But if I remember correctly ..ur car is pretty much new as u just had the 7500 mile service done, so it should be warrantable. BTW I went to Acura of Valley Stream and didnt do the 7500k service even though that fat blonde who thought she's hot was trying to force it on me, but did take the life time oil change prog though... for 200 bux u can't go wrong!!!

The only thing that I had did was change the bulbs. Bout the oil change, for $200 you get about 8 oil changes... so if you don't plan to change it urself for about a year and a half or 2... you just about break even. So you just go and ask for the "lifetime oil change program" ??

my passenger fog bulb went out in october when it was raining like crazy here and upon closer inspection, i saw consendation inside the fog case. i haven't modified the housing; only replaced the stock fogs with eaglites back in feb. i thought maybe water could've gotten in either thru the seal where the glass meets the metal frame or thru the base of the bulb where u twist it clockwise to lock it into the housing. i put in new eaglites last month and duct taped all around the base for both bulbs really well so water can't get in. tonight it was pouring and after reading this thread i decided to take a look and sure enough i see a small round consendation puddles on the glass by the reflector part for both fog cases and a bit of fogging too. fog i can understand do the cold moist air outside combined with the heat from the bulb, but actual visible water droplets must be from an imperfect seal between the glass and the frame. i'm waiting for the dealer to order a new heating element for my seat bottom, so i'm gonna get them to look at my fogs too when i bring my car in.

Would the fogging inside and the water droplets cause the bulb to burn out faster? Before I would notice only slight fogging inside when it rained but this last weekend it went through 6hrs of fog in the mountains, 2 days of rain and 1 day of snow lol I noticed it blew after the 6hrs of fog (where it turned to ice) and a day of rain.

My advice, replace bulbs back to factory and take it back to Acura and play dumb. They will just replace your housing. And yeah the lifetime oil change program, give you oil changes every 3500 miles or 3months whichever comes first. If you do it at that rate you either will break even or actually get a few oil changes for free!! And when its time to do your servicing for the 15k and 30k they deduct the oil change price from your servicing, since u paid the for the life time program. Defenitely a go in my book!

good tip on replacing my eaglites back to stock, but the mechanic might suspect that i changed them out when he sees my hyperwhite highs and turn signals. those are a PITA to change, so i don't really wanna swap em with the stock bulbs. guess i'll play dumb and say i prefer stock fog bulbs.

Is there any way to try to clear out the condensation inside? I tried leaving them out for a couple of days and blow drying it for a few minutes at a time for a bit until the plastic and metal started getting too hot to touch.

called up the service advisor and he says a bit of condensation is a normal thing. it's caused by a breathing hole located by the reflector part that allows the heat from the bulb to escape and that can cause some fogging/moisture to form on the glass. says even our HIDs have a breathing hole, but i've never noticed consendation in my headlights. i asked if it could be a problem with the seal btwn the glass and the metal frame and he said if that were the case, there'd be water inside. either from that or a crack/hole in the glass, so he told me not to worry. now it's got me wondering if the last time 1 of my fogs went out was cuz i may have driven over too many large puddles/flooded roadways (maybe deliberately cuz it's fun doing that) going pretty fast and some water got into that breathing hole. think i should start driving around puddles or at least drive very slowly through them.

The only thing I could think of that happened when my bulb went out was that it was pretty cold that night and I was driving through lots of fog and when morning came there was ice all over the car, more so on the side that the bulb blew.

it was raining again today and as a test i decided not to turn on my fogs. i come home and look at them and i see no condensation or fogging on the glass. so it appears that the water droplets that we both are seeing are formed from the heat of the bulbs, not water that's leaking in.

I got 55W bulbs in there and I think that stock are 51W.. I dont know if that is also what causes it. After I had replaced them I didnt get notice any condensation until recently. deediddy, Are your bulbs stock?

i got 55W eaglites. the 1st time i noticed condensation was in october when one of them went out. i had them in since february and it didn't rain as hard as it did when the bulb went out. it barely rained much prior to that.
