fog light - parking light question

i wired my fogs to my parking lights, and now my xenons flash with my parking lights when i arm my alarm and leave the lights on when i exit the car, get it? when i turn off my car and get out with the lights on, i arm the alarm, then after the lights turn off, if i hit the arm button again, the xenons flash, did i do something wrong or is this the sacrifice you got to make? the fogs work with the parking lights now though.

My car does not do this. When I arm or disarm the alarm (that sounds like a Dr. Seuss sentence) it functions the same way it did before I rewired the fogs. Sounds like something got crossed up somewhere......

I'm really, really thinking of doing this mod. I want my fogs on with the parking lights. I printed a post a few months ago that explained how to do it. Was it difficult? How long did it take you guys??

I think it matters if you leave your lights on, and fog lights on for how it will respond when you arm/disarm your car. I always leave my lights on, so whenever I arm the car, I think they flash each time I press the button. When I disarm it, the lights turn on. Now, if it is not armed, and you try to disarm it, the lights will flash, and then go back off. Does this sound like your situation?

Yeah, thats normal. Just don't press your lock button twice.

As for the fog light mod, it takes 5 mins to do. I have instructions w/pics if anyone is interested. Just PM me when your e-mail address and I will send it to ya.

I agree with everything said thus far. The mod took me 10 minutes but only because I have never messed with wires and circuits before. Today was the first time I used this new feature. It was raining and I had my fogs on with the parking lights.

If the OEM security system goes off, the parking lights will flash until the alarm stops. If you have real xenons and ballasts, linked to the parking lights, the on and off cycles will kill the high voltage ballasts in no time.

Why not? I press my lock button twice to make it beep and my Xenons never go off. I've even pressed the lock button 3 times by accident and the Xenons still never go off. Unless there's a wire mixup somewhere, I don't think they should go off when you re-wire the fogs. I agree with Edward'TLS that it can only cause damage. If you're having the same problem as bnaderi, maybe the same error was made ??

did you disconnect either of the wires from the harness, because right now the two wires that i joined together are slit running the the back of the switch, do i just loop them and disconnect them from the switch? and this only happens when i leave the car with the xenons still on when i exit.
