Fog Light idea

Hey guys i have a e55 projector that was in my other car.
anyway i was thinking of installing my 4300 k d2r kit on my fog lights.
given i kno im goin to have to water proff the ballast (phillips bmw oem gen 3)

i was wondering about cutting the back of the ballast's off where the bulb plugs into and then cutting the foglight housing where the 9006 bulb plugs. basically jb welding the light holder of the d2r bulb onto the cut fog housing. do u think the heat from the bulb would cause problems. do you think it would work.

im not sure i understand what you're trying to do. Are you trying to do a projector retrofit into the fogs?

As for the heat, i put in a 9006 plug and play HID kit into the fogs and i've had no problems so far.

well i have a d2r kit that i used in my projectors on my old car. the back of the projector i think can come off where u plug the bulb into. i was goin to take that part off and then mold it to the back of the fog light replacing the 9006 fitting. i was wondering if the metal to hardended plastic molding would cause heat problems down there

I've been able to touch the gas and not burn my hands with hid fogs so I figured it should be ok since others use silicone to seal the lexan to the housing for the glass replacement.
