Fog HID install

So I will start by saying thank you to all members who have posted information or links pertaining to fog light HID installation.

I recently installed a set of HID's in my 2003 TL-S. My problem is this...

I just tested the HID's out and they are extremely bright due to the lack of shielding that is employed within the stock headlight enclosure. I was wondering if any other members have found this to be a problem or have any suggestions for modifying the enclosure so that the HID's are projected back into the fog light then out to the road.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't you want more light on the road? It is only aimed low since they are fogs lights.

They nearly double the area I can see in front of the car and might even be brighter than my high beams. The visibility factor is awesome but my goal when installing the HID's was only to match the exact color of the stock headlights not to blind people in the process.

Now I understand why HID's are being banned in terms of their resale within the US for non - stock applications. Granted I don't think they should be banned but installed properly with the right shielding in place.

Soulution, just take the fog housing off the bumper, and if you observe on the back of the housings there will be two teethed knobs that can rotate. That knob adjusts height of the beam, so if you angle your beam lower, you'll reduce the amount of light shining beyond your head lights.

Thanks for the heads up on the adjustment nobs. I will try adjusting the height of the beams sometime tomorrow.
