Fluids updates...

1) New ATF Z1 - This is the ATF used in the 2002's. It is backward compatible with previous year TL's. As it is also used in the CVT units, it is the best ATF Honda makes, having superior shear properties and the highest anti-foaming and detergency. I did a quick viscosity cpmparison against the 2001 ATF and found the Z1 flows more freely. I jus bought 4 qts.

Just drain out the old, add this, after several cycles, all the fluid will be Z1 including any that was orginally left in the torque converter.

2) Type 2 Coolant: This is an improved version of the old Hinda coolant. It is non-silicate and non-borate as before, but is now an extended drain coolant, good fro up to 5 years/60000 miles. I would recommend 3 years based on previous experience with extended drain coolants from Texaco and others.

Type 2 is already blended! It contains de-mineralized water and should be added as a 1:1 fill, not diluted further!

It is pricey - $11+ for a gallon, which is only 50% coolant.
