First Dealer Service in CT - After Action Report

I met Brian at Schaller Acura in Manchester last week, and was impressed with his knowledge of the TLS, so I scheduled a dealer service visit with them.

At 4,100 miles, they changed the oil using 5W-20, and I noted that they properly replaced the washer as well.

They replaced a scuffed engine cover.

They adjusted my tailpipes, only problem (which I noticed when I got home) is that they are now level, but one isn't quite centered. No big deal, I may fix it myself or stop by for another quick adjustment.

They noted that something hit my CV boot and that it was leaking. This was replaced under warranty as a courtesy repair (nice!)

And they fixed the most annoying problem I've had with the car - a fairly loud creaking noise coming from behind the dash whenever the AC kicked in or out.

They knew exactly what the problem was - the back of the glove box was apparently rubbing against an AC vent tube, they adjusted the glove box - noise is gone! The car is now completely whisper quiet inside.

Spent two hours at the dealership, looked over the new RSX, and I was most impressed with the service and their attention to details.

Finally, a positive Acura dealership experience!

Hey Xorg,

I have had great luck with Brian and the service at Schaller Acura. They have always treated me fair, honestly, and quickly. When a service drifted past the promised time, they have given me a car (without me asking for it) and I have been very pleased, with both my TL-S and my past leased 99TL.

I think you will find them a pleasure to deal with.

looked over a RSX-S during my service visit over the weekend and I was seriously impressed. It was similar to WDP color and had a full body kit. It was a sweet looking car.

That's good to hear about Schaller, I rather like having the car serviced by someone close to home!

Schaller has great service especially when dealing with Brian.

Sales - well, that's a different animal altogether. They wouldn't
budge off a dime for a new TL-S despite my previous purchase of my former 1997 CL 3.0. For a TL-S, they wanted a 12% markup.
They preferred to lose my sale and I was glad to go elsewhere.

I had a similar experience with them. They wouldn't go lower than $300 under MSRP for a TL-S no nav and then said "and one with the navigation system will be $2,000 above that." I don't think so! Went to Acura of Boston instead and had a terrific experience.

Interesting stuff - I found Brian to be great, Norm in sales was definitely another story and an old school guy who liked to play games. I bought my car from Rick in Greenwich instead :-)

That's right.

In Greenwich (Acura), see Rick Ottavi, the Sales Manager.
He WILL negotiate with you!
