First Acura problem!!
My first tranny issue happened today. I took my car in for the 22,500 mile service and told them my transmission was riding a little hard. They called me about 2 hours later and told me that the transmission fluid which should be pink, is a golden brown!! They flushed my transmission and replaced the fluid, but I have a feeling this is only the beginning of the transmission problem. Who wants to put a wager on how much longer my tranny will live??
Oh top of the tranny they found something damaged in my suspension, not sure what it is yet because I haven't picked up the car yet, the girl that answer the phone only read me the paper work and they stated that my coil or something was damaged... "due to oversized tires"!! I have 18's, they are NOT oversized. Does anyone have 18's with stock suspension? Please let me know. And if you did any changes please tell me what you have because if it's anything other then the springs they better fix it under warranty and not blame it on the wheels!
I pick the car up tomorrow so I'll keep you posted, but please let me know what about the wheels.
Thanks!!

I have changed the tranny fluid myself with every oil change at 5K mile intervals. FWIW, it's been brown EVERY time. I doubt anybody has pink fluid after the first 1,000 miles.
I've got 16K trouble free miles, but I'm waiting for my tranny turn...
A REAL BUMMER!

The transmission problem looks okay...for now! but now I have a different problem. My car shifted to the left so I asked them to do an alignment which made a problem worse. I am now drifting to the right. Now they are stating that my right rear control arm is bent and is NOT covered underwarranty because it was caused by a hit, either though a pot hole or other forces which is not covered under warranty. Can someone tell me why I got the extended warranty then?? Shouldn't the control arm still be covered? Any help is appreciated.
I was definitely NOT in any accidents. Would a pothole be part of them not being responsible? If I just hit a pothole and it bent then the arm was weak and it should be their fault. I went to Ramsey Acura (piece of $hit place!, but only because that's where I got the car for the best deal) but I scheduled an appointment with Park Ave Acura and I'm not telling them what Ramsey told me so I can at least get a second opinion.
Goldendragon, won't Park Avenue Acura put your VIN in the system to show all of your notes on your repair work from other Acura dealers? I assumed their systems were linked somehow (I could be really wrong). They are here in Florida. I got my oil change here in Tallahassee, then on my trip to Jacksonville my auto up button wouldn't work so they fixed it. Then when I got back here for a tire repair, the Acura dealer here saw in the system that Jacksonville had repaired my window. Maybe it's just here but I just wanted to give you a headups in case they can look at past repairs from Ramsey.

Hitting a pothole is the same as crashing your car. It's your fault, damage is done and warranty isn't going to cover it...
Getting a second opinion is also a good idea. Are you sure one of your wheels aren't bent/scuffed either? Hitting a curb can do the same thing.

I'm hoping that the computers aren't linked together and if they are then oh well. Thanks for the heads up though. I definitely didn't hit a curb, the wheels and tires are new and I know I have been very very careful not to even bump the curb. I checked the wheels and everything is clean. Just gotta see what Park Ave says I guess. I really hope I don't have to spend that kind of money to fix it. Ugh!
Are there any visible marks on the rim or tire indicating that you hit a pothole. I brought my car for alignment and they called me back telling me I had a bubble on my tire and it was cause by a pothole cause the inside for rim was a bit scratched. If they can't be 100% sure that it was a pothole then they need to fix it. They are just trying to get around the problem.. Just tell them that your lawyer will get back to them and scare them and see if they will fix it then.
They need to prove that it was your fault to not cover it under warranty...
