firewall hole for 2001

firewall hole for 2001

i need to locate the hole in the firewall for my power wire... there was a previous thread bout this and said something like a rubber casing thing above the brake pedal for a 2002... i couldnt find it so i thought 2001 may be different???

I don't see why it would be different. It's above the brake pedal, and is a circular-shaped plug. It has white foam stuff attached to it when you pull it out.

i think its really more above the gas pedal. about 1 foot above it. if you're not a small guy its a delight to get to ...

ok i did pull the circle thing out... when i tried to stick something into it, it didnt even go through... do i have to use extra force or something??? i dont want to mess anything up...

It's hard rubber--for the purpose of keeping out moisture and nosie. You'll have to poke a hole in it with something sharp. Be sure to check clearance on both sides first! (I used a metal scribe to puncture mine). Also, make it watertight when you're done. The wire should be quite difficult to pull through--otherwise use something to seal it after the wire is secured.
