fine hairline cracks on bumper

my bumper had been painted a couple of years ago. Now there are fine hairline cracks. Should it even happen? There is one 3 inch line where no impact has occurred. All the fine cracks are underneath the clear bra.

please help. thanks!

UW,

I had the same thing on my front bumper that i had a bodyshop look at while doing some other work. I bought the car used and knew the front bumper had been repainted. Verdict was that the repaint job was very poor, not primed properly. Over time, the darn paint just starts to peel off. Looked like spider web cracks that started to peel. Last week, i hosed the car and the jet just blasted a 1 inch peel of paint right off the front. I hope it's not the same thing with your car. Also, body shop advised that the even the original factory paint job on the bumpers weren't that good.

If it' your bumper it's either ur bumper is "spider webing" or you hit something.

there is no sign of impact at this spot and it's not a spider webbing, it's a long 3 inch line
