Finally .... the right tone
I was able to finally get the right tone out of my custom exhaust.
Here is my suggestion for anyone considering any type of custom exhaust system.
1) If all you want is a throatier sound out of your exhaust, go to an exhaust shop and have them remove the smaller resonator/pre-muffler. This is the one closest to the cat.
2) If that isn't the right tone for you, consider replacing the axle-back exhaust system. If you want to spend top $$$ go with CompTech or the like or go to a muffler shop and they should be able to do it for around $300-$350.
3) If you really want your TL-S to be loud, sound like a rice-mobile and give you a migrain every time you drive it .... take out the large resonator/pre-muffler.
4) I would not recommend taking out both resonators/pre-mufflers unless you are planning on wearing a helmet with great soundproofing qualities.

Does it sound that good?
I guess I haven't looked that closely under my car to notice that there are 2 pre mufflers. How much of a difference would you say removing the smaller one makes? How much did it cost you?
Thanks,
Thanks,

It was about $60. It does sound good, but over time it is still a little loud at lower RPM's. Not that noticable if you have the radio on, but my wife is not that crazy about it.
1) Make sure that the muffler shop that does your work does not "yank out" the sensor which is connected to the cat. converter.
If I had to do it all over again, I would leave the stock exhaust and just replace the small pre-muffler with a glass pack.
