Finally, its almost time to pick up new TLS
Hi all,
It has been over a month since I first posted to this site trying to find the TLS at a reasonable price. Just as others had experienced, dealers in the bay area wouldn't "deal" at all. After multiple calls and faxes, I found the best deal for the WDP with navi. We are picking it up in Southern Cal for $31,600 next weekend. I am very excited!
My previous car was a Ford Contour SVT. It had lots of power at 195horses, but my new car will blow that away!
Thanks to all those who gave me tips on the who, what, where to try and get a good deal! All the input helped point me in the right direction.

Welcome! You'll love the car, and coming from the Contour SVT, you will probably want to get new springs and sways. Then, it will have the power AND handling.

price
Thanks for the welcome guys. It's good to hear that we did good on the price (I figured we did, but others responses confirm that). I spent about a week and a half making muliple calls and sending faxes to first find WDP in the car, and then try and negotiate a price. The car price also includes the mud guards and wheel locks so we basically got the car for a $1,000 over invoice, and guards and locks for a couple hundred more.
This was my original price goal when I started the "hunt", and even though I've waited for about 3 weeks for it's delivery, I am sure it will be worth it when we finally get to pick up the car next Saturday.
thanks,Mo.:p

Alright!
Congratulations! I just did the same maneuver you're about to do! If you're taking I-5 on the way back -- get ready for a beautiful drive, too.
One word of advice, though... get your car wash products now -- your beatiful WDP car will be COVERED with bugs from the drive back! Looked so bad I had to immediately wash my baby off!
Have fun,
Vincent

I'm going to join u guys
Hi guys,
First time posting here, but been reading for like 2 months now. I think I'm going to do the same thing you guys are doing (going to Southern Cali to get my TL-S).
One question though. Moneky, Vperkins.... What are you guys going to do if something goes wrong with the car? Can I go to a dealer up here to fix it? I'm sure I can, but do I have to pay for hourly wages etc. I ask this because my friend got a new Passot and the damn thing's air conditioner was broken. Can you believe that? Anyways, if something like that happens, what will we do?
Btw, I'm going through priceline.com. What dealer in S. Cal did u guys buy your car from? I'm getting the OEM underbody skirts as well. Do you think that will delay my car?
Btw, we can also wait a month or 2. When Xmas comes around, you know dealer will need to $$$ so they will sell at a lower price.
Thanks,
-mushen
