Cool Finally installed my Hi-Flo Cat

First of all, it wasn't easy at all installing the Random Tech Hi-Flo. I had to extend the O2 sensor wires. Fortunately my friend had a compressor and air tools so unbolting was easy. Floor jack and stands were a must also. Overall, took about 45 mins to install. I currently have a short ram intake and exhaust. With this cat installed, my VTEC was noticably louder as well as the exhaust. That was the first sign of it working. With the TCS on, and 225/45 tires, I'm peeling out without trying at times if I just stomp on the gas a little too hard. Yes, I know everyone's gonna be asking for dynos but I won't be doing any dynos until I get my Venom 400 installed, 2 pulls, 1 with venom off, 1 with venom on. Reason being is that we have enough guys dynoing their TLs. So, when I get mine done, we'll see how much my upgrades have done compared to other ppl's TLs. Oh yeah, another thing, the O2 sensor didn't exactly screw in easily into the socket. Threads are the right size, but I dunno, just really hard to thread in, no leaks tho and no Engine light on..

So louder below 3800 rpm and louder past 3800 rpm?

screeching your tires more... suppose that means better low end torque?

Kinda gets me fired up to install my test pipe!

My exhaust set never gets louder past 3800. The engine sound usually is louder than the exhaust at that point. I'm sure most of you guys have experienced it when your TL kicks and your head snaps back, now I feel like I may need a neck brace..lol. So yeah, I'd say I got more bottom end. But as I recall doesn't the VTEC technology use 3 lobes on the cam? If so, I think I can hear all 3 lobes now. Most of us can hear the 4500 change in lobes, but I remember seeing diagram on the GS-R VTEC and it showed 3 lobes.

The cam does have 3 lobes, but two are for normal operation (one for each intake valve). The high lift and long duration lobe is in the center and actuates both intake valves at the same time when the rocker arms lock together.

Oh..how sad, we only have 2 functions on our cams. The VTEC that I saw was stating that first lobe 0~3500 RPM 2nd 3500~6000 3rd 6000~8000RPM numbers somewhat rounded off of course but you get the idea..
