Finally Here! - and there's pics too (OEM KIT/H&R SPORT)

As some of you may know I have been waiting for the OEM body kit to arrive here in Canada, it was coming from Washington (great deal 599, painted and shipped to just north of Toronto, Canada.

Yesterday as I was leaving my house I saw the greatest thing in the world, THE FED-EX TRUCK!!! Whoooooo Hoooooooo.

I spent yesterday night installing the front bumper piece, and the rest went in this morning (during the rain I might add). So here are some pics ........I know that it is still raining and dark out but I had to take pics I just got soaked installing this bodykit, it wouldn't be fair not to take pictures.

What do you guys n' gals think??

next is probably 02 taillights, and I am going to swap lights with Tatewaki so mine will be totally clear and his'll be blacked. The rims would be a very nice add on next but money has a way of not accumulating up to $3000 before I end up spending it, on other things, springs....bodykit...

The bodykit came from Acura of Bellevue Washington. Talk to Mickey in the Parts dept. She was the one I delt with and she was great, even called me to tell me she was going to hold the shipping for an extra day to make sure the paint dries, most places would go to the effort to call you, I thought it was great service, plus 399 for the kit 100 for the paint (any color guys) and 100 for shipping to canada. can't go wrong there!

Looks good. I am waiting for the hardware kit for my front and rear bumper. I have the sides installed right now. I can't wait either. As tumas said, the paint is noticeably different, especially on close up pics.

with a quoted price of 250 per piece ($1000 total) I figured I would have the dealership paint it . I have to get rid of thoes ugly holes in the front bumper from the licence plate, and the bumper has a bunch of scuffs on front passengers side anyway. I was going to have to repaint the bumper anyway, I have a few people checking on paint suppliers so far I have been quoted on over $200CAD for 2 gallons of Heather Mist mettalic.

I am working on Fiberglass covers for both sides of the trunk to enclose all my stereo components, and cover the amp with tempered glass. I will be painting the fiberglass covers the same colour as the body. I also was thinking about installing a mesh over the grille, fog light holes, and the gap between the two holes, in front of the grid like teeth on the bottom center of the bumper.

I am going to habe to paint my panels for the trunk, the mesh on the front of the car and re-paing the bumper, so adding the bodykit to the list of things to paint is not too much work. I origionally thought I would be ordering a white one or a multi coloured one to get the kit for 399.

I found 13 bolts, washers and nuts to hold the rear bumper up. Even if there is no hardware I will still attach the body kit . where there's a will, theres a lawer and a way, and I got 4 self tapping screws. the bolts I got from left over ardware from other jobs and used them instead of the ones from the kit they worked beautifully. better that stock I bet (I probably over did it). 13 1/4inch bolts an inch long, with washers and lock nuts. Ya, I way over did it, but it worked perfectly.

and OUSIG thanks for the comment I didn't want to sound too rude, but I think that got the point across. thanks again , appreciated

Hey Freedom! does the place you bought ur kit from also carry the 02-03 oem body kit?? if those prices apply to the newer kit, its definitely a steal! BTW nice car, go lower! and the reason why the kit looks off is i think because of the lighting...i don't think its necessarily off at all...

Looks nice! Your drop actually doesn't look as low as I'd expect for H&R Sports. Are you using stock shocks, or aftermarket?

Wow this thread is old.. I should be getting the kit on my new TL-S but I'm busy as hell with stuff lately..

With regards to the kit currently being more expensive than when I bought it. Acura of Washington Bellevue was getting the "mismatched" overstock 99-01 kits from Acura directly.. That's why there was such a good deal, the dealer had to arrange painting, and coordinate the parts to make full kits.

I have been quoted more than that for the front lip for a 02OEM kit from a local Acura stealership.

Who the heck resurrected this thread. now I've got to speed up Modding my new TL-S.
