So I have a few questions...

-You guys said to get the 8.8 bolts? is that the strength? and how long do they have to be?

-About these gaskets?
i need header to a pipe and header to head? Do I have to buy these or can I reuse the ones on my car?

-So everyone is saying the bolts on the 99 are rusted or something? I have a 99, how am I suposed to get them off? (I have a "california car" so minght they not be rusted to hell?

I believe all this to be true and that he and I were speaking of the same distributor XS-Power but I know that there are other rip offs closely related to XS-Engineering, etc. so there is a chance I am off. Just a heads up on the potential good and bad.
I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubble but do not expect to get a lifetime warranty on these headers or any semblance of customer service. Yes it's a great buy at $150 and yes they seem to fit fine but these will not be warrantied. Check out the guy's feedback on ebay. If someone says something doesn't fit he starts calling them names and it is well documented on other forums that he does not honor warranties. Again, good bang for the buck but don't expect customer service or a warranty.

is it necessary to change out your exhaust system, when you get headers?

No, the headers are a direct bolt on to your stock exhaust system, in this case directly to your cat.

maybe I should ask if the stock system allows the headers to breath properly?

Yes...

You don't have to have aftermarket exhaust if you install headers. The factory exhaust is fine.

8.8 is the strength. you will want 10x40 1.25 or 1.50 pitch Metric bolts (or the equilivent size in standard)

The only gaskets you would need is the manifold to head gaskets. (i reused mine) the only bolts that may be hard to get off are the ones on the cat

someone had asked about shipping to canada.

I paid 110+50 shipping US dollars. I didn't have to pay duty or taxes. oh yeah don't forget the 3 dollars insurance. So 163 US to ship to Canada.

are u serious?

that is a great deal...

i thought the brokerage fee and handling fee woud be charged as well.

how did you avoid those fees?

if thats the case, I'm gonna order them soon.

I was very scared about those ridiculous fees that FEDEX and UPS charges.

The seller declared the item to be "refurbished diesel test pipe demo" and declared the commercial value to be 0$. That's why when I got them, fedex charged me nothing! On the other hand, if it does get damaged during transit, you would get screwed cuz the insured value will be 0$ and you would end up with nothing... However, the seller wrapped it pretty good, double boxed it, with styrofoam popcorn and bubble wrapped the headers. Shouldn't be a problem...

some info if you have resonance

Just wanted to give an update on resonance.

i had the headers on for about a month on my tl, no problem, about a week ago starteg getting metal against metal resonance, put the car on the lift, looked under and the rubber that the hanger on the b-pipe attaches to right near the cat was shot. So fabbed up a new one using some rubber hose and bam, no more resonance. So in case some people have been getting some resonance with the xs headers, just wanted to give a heads up to check the hanger.

I had the exact same problem with my car. The rubber piece broke and was causing metal on metal rubbing/vibrating. Also fixed the hanger and resonance went away!

How exactly do you make a hanger out of rubber hose? Just so I prepare for this.

just found some small diameter rubber hose, not like garden hose, but like your hoses found on your engine, and slipped it over the hanger, its a good temprory fix till i replace the rubber piece. THe hose just replaces the rubber peice that broke/deteriorated.

I remember bigd026 talking about this so i was happy that it was the same problem with mine and so i just wanted to reidereate it for anyone else who might have a problem in the future.

Just so you know, the rubber mount is 11 dollars brand new. Not very expensive should yours eventually break. (shouldnt mine has over 200k on it)

i did a search for the headers on ebay and came up with this Ford Probe GT V6 2.5L 93-97 Turbo XS-Power Header ......are these the correct ones? I'm new to all this stuff and would hate to spend the money and get the wrong ones.

Wrong ones. Search for comptech headers. The XS style will come up for the accord. Those are the ones you want

umm... i'd recommend not getting ford probe headers for your acura...

the Accord ones (V6 of course) fit because the TL engine has identical exhaust port configuration.

you want headers for either a CL, TL, or Accord

Huh, I've been having a metal on metal resonance sound too! And I noticed I'm missing some rubber in a hanger... is this the one you're all talking about?

Just bought a new one for like $10 from Acura... haven't put it in yet though.

So because you lazy we have to do the work for you????
No problems so far. I reused my original gaskets for the exhaust manifold to head and used their ring gaskets. No leaks
