ok well got my K&N today i kno i will get like 1 horsepower but its better than nothing, i want the car quiet, my first question is theres a flat level side and a thick side im assuming the thicker part goes face down? fit in right so i should be ok on that, but whoever installed the old filter broke the clip on the left side of the airbox that holds it in place (TYPE s) so now just the 2 screws on the right side of the airbox hold it down? should i rig something to hold the left side or should those 2 screws be enough? if i use my hands to lift the left side i can make a gap in the airbox , o dont want stuff going in through that gap . hopefully i made some sense.

 

I recently installed a K&N and my airbox (03-type-S) was the same, broken clip. maybe it is normal??? The filter dropped in and fit no problem.

 

hope it doesnt create a gap letting dirt get in there, u faced the flat side up too right?
