Is there any way to get fastest /shortest route using the navi? ive noticed that it always gives the long way to get to the destination

 

You can change the routing in the system. Just hit Setup when you have your route in. The "Direct Route" should be the shortest route (fastest too - most of the time), however, the "Easy Route" may be faster in some cases (usually not).

It always defaults to the one you used last - so if you chose "Minimize Freeways," and didn't change it back, you're gonna be driving a lot of surface streets!

I have found that sometimes the Navi calculated routes that I didn't agree with (would've taken longer because of traffic), but technically - it actually was the shorter route.

I believe you don't have your car right now (from previous posts, and according to your sig.). Any progress on your car situation?

 

nah dude.... Im soo sad i dont have a car right now... hopefully i can get my old car back and drive it around for a little while then trade it in... im still waiting for my car to be fix

 

Direct route is not the same as fastest route. I set mine to easy route which takes me via hiway with minimal turns and corners. I do not like the direst route because many times it makes you "stair-step" your way to your destination if you know what I mean.

No.

 

If you are not satisfied with the routing, you need to customize by going in and deleting roads (from the route) until the final route is desirable.
